abstract = {This paper examines the impact of signaling in reward-based crowdfunding systems from the project initiators’ perspective. In order to reduce the information gap between the project initiator and the crowd, different signals can be applied in order to increase the project success. The paper identifies opportunities and challenges of reward-based crowdfunding systems. As the major advantages of reward-based crowdfunding factors such as the low costs in terms of communication, search as well as transaction costs, could be identified.},
