I studied business informatics at the University of Vienna, Austria (1983-1987) and received my Ph.D. in 1991 from the University of Zurich, Switzerland. Afterwards I was promoted to associate professor in 2000 (“habilitation” in business studies) at the University of Vienna. Since 2006 I am head of the research group electronic business at the University of Vienna, Faculty of Business, Economics and Statistics.
My research activities include: digitalisation and management, electronic business, electronic commerce, operations research, production & logistics, and business informatics.
Current topics: accessibility, cloud computing, creative industries, collaboration, e-services, knowledge management, security, recommender systems, service science, SOA, technology transfer.
Methods & Techniques: simulation, heuristics, multi-objective decision support, Delphi technique, online surveys, sentiment analysis, systematic literature reviews, case studies.
